Blue Zones Nicoya is a 100% Costa Rican company, founded in 2014 in the Nicoya Peninsula Blue Zone — one of five regions on Earth where people routinely live past 100. We research, produce, and share the ingredients that make that possible.
Chapter 01 / Origin
A peninsula, a movement, a company
Founded in 2014, Blue Zones Nicoya emerged from one of the most studied longevity regions on earth. For over a decade, we have been highlighted by research into local foods from the Blue Zone of Nicoya-Guanacaste — working hand in hand with centenarians, small farmers, and local communities to identify the key ingredients that define this extraordinary place. The result is a portfolio of five product lines: 100% Arabica coffee, herbal teas, raw bee honey, hot sauces, and Maya Nut morning brews — all 100% natural, all rooted in the science and traditions of the world's longest-lived people.
Collaboration with Nicoya's centenarians helped us define the key ingredients in all our formulations — ingredients used for centuries with proven health benefits. We call this Retro-Innovation.
The pillar of "eating wisely" encourages us to offer products based on the diet of the inhabitants of our Blue Zone — achieving a balance between lifestyle and well-being. Our purpose is to promote awareness of high-quality products with nutritional value and great health benefits, while rescuing the values, culture, and traditions of this region.
Every product we make is an extension of that philosophy: honest ingredients, no preservatives, no artificial colors, and a deep respect for the people and land of the Nicoyan Peninsula.

Rooted in the community
Blue Zones Nicoya has its production facilities in the rural region of San José–Pinilla, Guanacaste. We generate direct and indirect jobs for the community, and work hand in hand with small farmers through medium and long-term contracts that create steady income.
