Blue Zones Nicoya is 100% Costa Rican. For the past 6 years we have stood out due to our work with local foods originating from the Nicoyan Peninsula in Costa Rica. The Nicoyan Peninsula is the largest Blue Zone in the World.
Our company is the result of a National Geographic investigation that discovered the Blue Zones. Blue Zones are naturally occurring areas around the world were people live longer and better lives.
Blue Zones Nicoya is more than just a brand, it is a way of life, a movement that celebrates the constant search for a balanced lifestyle. We want to keep growing in an innovative way, as well as to keep up our promise of offering a better and healthier life for our employees, clients, and community. HONEY & FRUITS
Honey is perfect all on its own. It has been called by other names such as “Liquid Gold” due it’s lovely gold color. This sweet treat is always a visual delight. There are few ways to enhance it but at Blue Zones Nicoya we took the time to research and explore ways in which we could elevate the pure flavors of raw honey while maintaining the health benefits of each natural ingredient we use. This is how we came up with our Honey & Fruits, the perfect combination of raw, natural honey and tropical fruits. The fruits are dried under the Guanacaste sun thus preserving their properties and organoleptic qualities. Blue Zones Nicoya’s Honey & Fruits are the perfect item to accompany any breakfast recipe, they also go great with tea, with a cheese board, or alone as the ideal and healthy dessert.

The herbs used are native and authentic of the centenarian’s gardens in Guanacaste – Costa Rica. The majority of these plants are seen as bad weeds that grow unintentionally in our gardens. Little do people know that these herbs are full of positive benefits for our health.All of the herbs used in our teas are carefully curated and processed to bring out the best of their benefits. This makes the blends a luxurious antidote that is tasteful and mild yet brimming with extraordinary properties. Blue Zones Nicoya’s herbal tea harvests are certified as USDA Organic; this means that everything in our farm is pesticide and herbicide free.

The Guanacaste area seems to be in an eternal summer, where the sun is never absent. Thanks to these unique characteristics of the area, the altitude of the mountains that fluctuates between 500 and 1000 meters above sea level, the warm rays of the sun, and the sea breeze have provided our coffees with a unique flavor profile.
Our micro batch gourmet coffee comes from specific Costa Rican ecosystems that help shape each bean to perfection. Micro lots are characterized by the importance of producing quality and specialty coffees in a sustainable way, providing our customers with a unique and exclusive experience in each sip.
Social responsibility: A percentage of the sales of this product are donated to help support Costa Rican Centenarians.

HONEY
Honey contains various antioxidants, such as phenolic and flavonoid compounds. The antioxidants found in raw honey have been documented to have excellent health benefits, specially regarding heart health.
HOT SAUCES
There is nothing quite like adding a little spice to your food to bring it up a notch, there’s something about the warmth it brings that awakens the taste buds and just all-around lifts food up. Capsaicin found in hot peppers is full of health benefits. Among them, it increases metabolism and has anti-inflammatory properties. Hot sauce, by its nature, is a source of healthy nutrition.
At Blue Zones Nicoya we have 3 different hot sauces for your enjoyment. These range from a mild cayenne hot sauce to our classic Nalga de Perro sauce, a flavor that goes perfectly with any type of food. The spicier Piquín or Congo has a delicious smoky flavor. Finally, we also have the fiery Bhut Jolokia pepper, also known as ghost pepper, if you want to turn up the heat.

Healthy Blue Pancakes
Servings: 4 or more depending on the size you like. Time: 10 minutes or less Ingredients: 2 scoops of Healthy Blue 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 2 tablespoons (or more) of almond milk or any milk of your liking. 2 ripe bananas 1 tablespoon of chia seeds 2 eggs A dash of cinnamon and nutmeg (if you like) Ghee, butter, or oil (for cooking) For this recipe all you need is a bowl and a fork. Hearts of palm ceviche
Hearts of palm are harvested from the inner core of certain palm trees, and Costa Ricans eat them cooked or in salads. Easy to enjoy and prepare, they are rich in immune boosters vitamin C and zinc. This ceviche is traditionally made with searingly hot habanero peppers, but you can substitute with sweet or mild peppers if you’re spice averse.
